Fertility 101

I’m sure you remember your Health Education class in middle or high school, or at the very least “that talk” with your mom or dad, giving you key information about the “birds and the bees”. I’m sure you also remember that the purpose of the class and the talk was to keep you from getting pregnant, among other things. The irony is that there’s no follow-up course for us as adults to teach us how to get pregant when we’ve decided to start a family. Most of us just stop using birth control and hope we get our timing right, and of course, some of us get pregnant right away, but what about those of us who don’t?
We believe that you should have access to good, accurate information and we believe that not everyone labeled “infertile” is unable to conceive a child. Dr. Sara Featherstone and I are offering a two-part workshop in October that covers: the physiology of conception–what happens when and how to recognize when you are most likely to get pregnant, what can go wrong and how we as holistic practitioners approach and treat common fertility issues, the impact of diet on fertility and the importance of detoxification, the true impact of stress on fertility and the mind/body connection, and how to use acupuncture and natural medicine to increase your odds of getting pregnant even if you’ve been diagnosed with “unexplained infertility” or you’ve opted to go through IUI (intra-uterine insemination) or IVF (in-vitro fertilization). Our goal is to give you the information and tools that will help increase your likelihood of achieving a healthy pregnancy!
When: Saturday October 17th, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and Saturday October 24th, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Where: The Strand Building, 174 Concord Street, Peterborough, NH
Cost: $200 per person, $300 per couple, includes course handouts and a light snack
